HELP NEEDED – Our church has adopted a church in Peytona, West Virginia.  This church / community is where our backpacks are delivered.  This church and their parsonage are in need of a roof for each building.  They are currently in need of $10,500 to do this.  If you would like to make a donation, please make your check to Berry’s Grove and put “Peytona Roof Fund” in the memo.

NEWSLETTER DEADLINE – If you have an announcement for the October newsletter, please place your submission in the folder outside the church office or email it to lynnepoo7@gmail.com in a Word document by Sunday, September 22nd.

MONDAY MORNING SMALL GROUP – The Monday Morning Small Group will study Max Lucado’s The Great House of God, based on the Lord’s Prayer. We meet in the Family Life Center Social Room at 9:30 beginning September 23rd. Anyone desiring to join us may see Joyce Snipes for a book. Cost is $10. From the book The Great House of God: God’s desire is to be your dwelling place. He doesn’t want to be merely a weekend getaway. He has no interest in being a Sunday bungalow or even a summer cottage. He wants to be your mailing address, your home. He wants you to live in the Great House of God, the literal promise of his Son: ‘If my people love me, they will obey my teaching. My father will love them and we will come to them and make our home with them’ (John 14:23). In The Great House of God, Max Lucado takes you on a tour of the home God intended for you. Warm your heart by the fire in the living room. Nourish your spirit in the kitchen. Seek fellowship in the family room. Step into the hallway and find forgiveness.

LADIES’ FALL SUNDAY SCHOOL BRUNCH – Ladies, are you looking for a place to belong? We want you to join us for brunch, fellowship & Bible study on Sunday, September 29th, at 9:00 a.m., in the Family Life Center Social Room.

2019 APPALACHIAN BACKPACK CHRISTMAS OUTREACH – Sign up to fill a backpack or several for the outreach that provides for children who may only receive this for Christmas.  Our goal is a hundred this year.  The cost for each backpack is $3.40.  Sign the sheet in the hallway if you would like to purchase a backpack from Kay Coates, so she will know how many to order.  The items needed for the backpacks can be found at baptistsonmission.org.  Click on Missions:  United States Appalachian Coalfields and then click on 2019 Appalachian Christmas Outreach.  Please follow the list as closely as possible.  The church that we are partnering with in PEYTONA, WEST VIRGINIA is also asking for blankets and children’s shoes, new or gently used.  Donation boxes are in the hallway and in the Family Life Center if you wish to donate items.  Thanks for helping the children in Appalachia.  (Kay will be in the main hallway each Sunday if anyone wants to purchase a backpack or has any questions.)                                       ~Kay Coates
