ANNOUNCEMENTS

WAKE FOREST BAPTIST HEALTH MOTHER’S DAY OFFERING – During the month of May, we will receive this offering.  Since 1924, North Carolina Baptists have given to the Mother’s Day Offering to “extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, especially to the needy”. Today, your gifts to the Mother’s Day Offering  continue that work to assist patients in financial need at Wake Forest Baptist Health.  God’s love is giving hope and changing lives through the Mother’s Day Offering!  The gifts of North Carolina Baptists, given in the name of Jesus Christ and His love, help patients in serious financial need at Wake Forest Baptist Health pay their hospital bills and at times other expenses to assure they will continue on their healing journey.  The experience of such compassion draws them closer to the heart of Christ.  One hundred percent of gifts help patients with special needs to pay their hospital bills.  Mother’s Day Offering envelopes are provided for you.

LIFE CHOICES:  PREGNANCY & PARENTING SUPPORT – We will be collecting change (cash & checks) for this ministry through Father’s Day – Sunday, June 16.  Please place your donations in the baby bottles that can be found in your Sunday School classroom, in the vestibule, and on the counter in the main hallway.  Their mission as a non-profit ministry is to affirm the value of life by providing a network of care to those experiencing a pregnancy, while always presenting compassionate biblical truths in a confidential and caring environment.  For more information, please call (336)597-2811.

2019 APPALACHIAN BACKPACK CHRISTMAS OUTREACH – Sign up to fill a backpack or several for the outreach that provides for children who may only receive this for Christmas.  Please consider doing more than one.  Last year we provided 96 backpacks. Let’s strive for a hundred this year.  I have purchased backpacks, and they are now available.  The cost has risen from $3.00 to $3.20, plus we now have to pay NC sales tax; therefore, the cost for each one will be $3.40.  Sign the sheet in the hallway if you would like to purchase your backpack from me, so I know how many to order.  Currently, I have 72 available.  The items needed for the backpacks are listed in the May newsletter, and copies will also be available in the hallway.  Please follow the list as closely as possible.  The church that we are partnering with in PEYTONA, WEST VIRGINIA is also asking for blankets and children’s shoes, new or gently used.  Donation boxes are in the hallway and in the Family Life Center if you wish to donate items.  Thanks for helping the children in Appalachia.                       ~Kay Coates
